Introducing Kristy, the designer and maker behind Beithe, a small batch, eco-friendly clothing line specializing in modern silhouettes and everyday basics, and also one of our directors. She also has twenty years of experience in the Canadian garment industry, and also happens to be one of the directors here at Orelia Inc.
The Connection to our First Director
She is a mom to two lovely kids and lives in the cutest red brick bungalow in Winnipeg's vibrant West End neighbourhood. I (Sashira, founder of Orelia Inc) met Kristy when our kids started school together, and we bonded over our mutual love of art, making things, and trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
I watched as Kristy developed her idea for Beithe while simultaneously maintaining her industry job. I fell in love with her updated basics with a twist, in neutral colours, and in natural fabrics. Her desire to create a clothing line that stands the test of time really spoke to me. I proudly wear her items a few times a week, and am always excited to see what her new releases will be.
Kristy Comes Aboard
I was delighted to welcome Kristy’s Orelia top as our first item of clothing in the shop, and honoured that she accepted my request to become one of our directors of Orelia Inc. Kristy is an extraordinary sounding board for my thoughts and ideas, not only with Orelia, but with my personal artwork, and simply as a wonderful encourager. Her son would send cards and things to cheer Adrian up while he was in hospital, and she gave our family such lovely gifts as comfort since we were in our own Covid lockdown when Adrian was at his worst. Kristy has always been one of my supporters both as a friend, and as an admirer of my art, and her backing of my idea for Orelia was incredibly valuable to me.
